Am pretty happy with this piece. Charles the Chow Chow!

On the day that I did the glaze, there was some filming going on in the workshop, and the crew had moved some things around, so I couldn't find the standard underglaze provided by the workshop. They also didn't allow any of us to make any noise.

So I had to use the underglaze from a friend, she happened to have a black underglaze. I didn't know it was glossy, so, thinking it was matte, I wanted to give the nose and the tongue a shine. Well, that's the fail, coz, apparently the underglaze had a glossy finish.

As this is supposed to be a planter I didn't want this to have a glossy finish (less porous) but it is what it is.

This planter is a gift to a colleague that's going into retirement.

Ah, so the other day at the workshop, there was something going on (some filming) and the crew moved some stuff around. I couldn't find the trolley with the underglaze from the workshop, and so I had to use my friend's supply. Thing is, I wasn't even sure if that was underglaze or not (oops). We'll see.

So I put in an order for some of my own underglaze. This Taobao (AliExpress I guess) store seems to have pretty good reviews.

It had quite a selection, groups of 12 colours that they bundled into sets of 24 colours (option). I know the colours may be off on the screen, but well, after some scrutiny, I've decided to get this set of 24 and also the following set of 12.

This way it seems I get quite a range of colours.

And these are just small bottles (80g) so supposedly they can get used up pretty quickly.

Yes yes, just showing off the front and backs of the three doggie planters. As my other WIPs are going on and approaching to finished, I felt nostalgic and wanted to come back to these.

As you can see, there is some crazing on Menina’s backside.
